(The Annales Cambriae) is the oldest Chronicle of Welsh affairs that we possess. It is derived from three different copies, which, for the purpose of reference. No permission is granted acmbriae commercial use. The earliest is a 12th-century presumed copy of a midth century original; later editions were compiled in the 13th century. On the Kalends of January the battle of Meigen; and there Edwin was killed with his two sons; but Cadwallon was the victor. Offa king of the Mercians and Maredudd king of the Demetians die, and the battle of Rhuddlan. There are several other copies of the Annales in later manuscripts.
We cannot tell if he is a king or battle leader from this passage, although the fact that he is mentioned by name suggests that he is an important figure.
